Forbes Ranks ChristianaCare Among America’s Best Employers for Women in 2024

ChristianaCare is recognized as one of America’s Best Employers for Women for 2024It is the first time that the company has received this prestigious recognition.

Caregivers at Union Hospital are among the special women building their careers at ChristianaCare.

In a survey of 150,000 women working at companies with at least 1,000 employees in the U.S., ChristianaCare ranked 150th out of 600 recognized employers.

“This important recognition is a testament to our culture and the remarkable women who have chosen to build meaningful careers at ChristianaCare,” said Chris CowanMEd, FABC, Chief Human Resources Officer of ChristianaCare.

Komal Khan, BS, is a staff scientist at ChristianaCare’s groundbreaking Gene Editing Institute. She is part of the research team for the pre-Investigational New Drug to Treat Lung Cancer.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista, which surveyed employees on various aspects, including work environment, growth opportunities, compensation, diversity, parental leave, flexible working hours and family support.

ChristianaCare continues to create a strong, inclusive and diverse culture for women inside and outside the company by investing in professional development through the Women’s Employee Network (WEN) and offering a comprehensive benefits package, including several flexible leave options for employees, including a minimum of 12 weeks of paid parental leave.

Elizabeth Hines, MD, is the Division Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at ChristianaCare. She leads ChristianaCare’s 24/7 Center for child care on the Newark campus.

The Forbes recognition follows other national recognitions of ChristianaCare’s commitment to an inclusive workplace. Earlier this year, Forbes has ranked ChristianaCare as one of the best employers for diversity in the U.S.

Additionally, Forbes ranked ChristianaCare as the best employer in veterans healthcare in the United States. Both ChristianaCare’s Wilmington Hospital and Christiana Hospital were named Leaders in LGBTQIA+ Healthcare Equality since 2012.
