One of our favorite tools to help prepare children for any transition is to use books during storytime that reflect all the emotions our little ones may be feeling. It allows them to see themselves in a story, allows parents to start an open dialogue, gives children the opportunity to be open about how they’re feeling, and allows us to validate children’s feelings in a safe environment.
