Brooklyn Children’s Museum

As the first children’s museum in the United States, built in 1899, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum does not disappoint. The museum is designed to encourage little ones to explore multiple senses and stimulate social, physical and emotional development.
With various exhibitions At Totally Tots (with nine different sensory play areas) and The Nest on the roof terrace, children can experience for themselves what the museum has to offer.
One of the most unique features of the museum is the World Brooklyn exhibition. This is the BCM’s own mini-Brooklyn with mini-stores based on the real ones they would find all over Brooklyn. Here they get the chance to learn about the different parts of a community and what helps it thrive.
