When it comes to car seats, we always come back to the brands we trusted when we had our kids in car seats. Britax is one of those brands. This brand is constantly evolving and focuses on safety and design, the two most important features that parents look for.
The Poplar Convertible, which can be used rear-facing (5 pounds to 50 pounds or up to 49 inches) and forward-facing (22 pounds to 65 pounds or up to 49 inches), is our pick for both urban and suburban parents. If you’re primarily an urban parent, you’ll appreciate that the Poplar Convertible isn’t bulky and is designed to be sleek on the outside but still quite roomy on the inside (17”), all while not sacrificing comfort and, most importantly, safety.
If you have a couple of kids, we love that this seat is slim enough that this style of car seat fits into the backseat of most cars via ClickTight Installation (open, buckle, click, click closed). The car seat weighs just over 27 pounds, with a weight capacity of 5-65 pounds. $299.
Car seat rotation: Fit360TM ClearTex Swivel Convertible Car Seat
The Fit360TM ClearTex Rotating Convertible Car Seat faces you instead of the usual forward- or rear-facing mode, because if you’ve ever had to contort your body to get a toddler into a car seat, you know that’s an instant benefit. Chicco has thoughtfully designed the straps on their car seat so that you don’t have to dig around your child to find them; the harness clips store on the side of the seat with a pouch for each clip, and a spring-loaded crotch buckle keeps the buckle available for easy use.
Once your little one is strapped in, you can easily swivel the seat forward or backward with a click and a simple rotation. Installation is quick with Chicco’s LeverLock seat belt installation system, which allows you to thread the seat belt through the back of the seat base and click it into place. The two RideRight level indicators help you make sure the seat is at the correct angle. If you need a reminder while installing your seat, point your phone’s camera at the QR code on the side of the seat to pull up instructions.
The Fit360TM ClearTex Rotating Convertible Car Seat comes with a removable head and body support for newborns 4-11 lbs. and fits children up to 65 lbs. and 49 in. tall. It also has two removable, dishwasher-safe cup holders and machine-washable fabric. The optional Fit360 Mirror is designed and approved specifically for this seat and is sold separately. $399.99. Additional bases can be purchased for $179.99.
Sturdy Wago stroller: Sprout Single to Double Stroller/Carriage
It’s no secret that parents love a sturdy stroller. While city dwellers love them for all the extras they pack into a single piece of gear, strollers are also one of those parenting essentials that works for everyone. Whether you have one kid or two, the Sprout™ single-to-double is designed to support your day out, with generous pockets and nooks so you can organize all your essentials while you’re on the go.
The Sprout™ single-to-double can be used first as a newborn flat wagon. It is also a harness-seat toddler wagon and a dual-harness-seat wagon. Yes, it is a lot to take in, but in a nutshell, you can have your littlest baby and your toddler both in the wagon.
The quality of this cart is high-end, with a handle that can be adjusted to different positions. Sturdy wheels can handle those cobblestone streets and long drives when you’re out and about. $525.00
One hand fold stroller: TRVL lx stroller
If there is a It The latest stroller series is the Nuna stroller series. Known for its compatibility and well-made strollersIt’s hard not to come across a Nuna stroller, especially in New York.
We are obsessed with this latest style, the TRVL lx strollerbecause it is a one-hand fold stroller that is sturdy with notable features such as an almost flat backrest with a calf support that can be increased and converted into a stroller. It weighs 14.6 pounds – without the hood, so let’s say about 16 pounds, which makes it easy to fold and carry, a big plus, especially if you’re a parent who can’t leave the stroller at daycare or preschool. #ikkuh.
And yes, we often think of “city” when we cover stuff, so the front wheels with swivel locks make us dizzy – we walk in the rain and snow here. We also know that many families live in the suburbs, so we love this stroller because it fits perfectly in the car, and the TRVL lx stroller is compatible with the car seats from the PIPA series. $550.

Suitable for many body types: Ergobaby Omni 360 All-Position Baby Carrier
In this gear article, we’ll look at the products that we think stand out; some may be new, while others, like the Omni 360, are a classic that to have has built a cult following because it’s a well-made (and soft!) carrier that’s well worth the money. Super versatile – your baby can be carried from newborn to toddler (45 lbs.) It can be warned inward (great for that early stage), forward, backward and on your hip. Unlike some carriers, the Omni 360 rear padding (lumbar back support) and shoulder strap padding help provide balance support while carrying and are easily adjustable to fit a wide range of body types. €145-€180.
