This recipe was tested with the full-fat version of sour cream and mayonnaise. You can use the lighter versions, but that will result in a less rich, less creamy dip. Another option is to halve the mayonnaise and add extra sour cream to reduce the calories and fat.

Don’t like or don’t have mayonnaise? No problem! You can make this with 2 cups of sour cream and leave out the mayonnaise. It will give you a thinner, stronger flavored dip, but it’s still delicious! Out of sour cream? Try this veggie dip with Greek yogurt. Just make sure to use regular Greek yogurt!

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a mixer until creamy.

  2. Mix in the mayonnaise, sour cream and ranch seasoning packet until well combined.

  3. Place the mixture in a small serving bowl.

  4. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Garnish with chopped chives, if desired.

  5. Serve with your favorite vegetables or chips.

  6. Store leftovers, covered, in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days.

Can be made one to two days in advance.

You can modify this recipe by replacing the mayonnaise with just sour cream. (So a total of two cups of sour cream and no mayonnaise.) This will reduce the calories and fat, but the dip will be less rich and creamy.

This dip can be served immediately. However, the longer you refrigerate it, the more time this dip has to firm up and meld. If you refrigerate it for a few hours or longer and serve it immediately after removing it from the refrigerator, it will be a little firmer. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving, it will be creamier.
