Chili Cheese Dip Recipe Ingredients
All you need are three ingredients to make this chili cheese dip!
- cream cheese
- canned chili with or without beans (Hormel chili or other favorite brand)
- grated cheese (cheddar or other cheddar mixture)
- sliced green onions or jalapenos for garnish (optional)
Not a fan of canned chili? Try this dip with homemade chili. Not only is it a great way to use up some leftovers, but it will taste even better. This recipe has only been tested on full-fat products, but lower fat or lower sodium versions can be used if desired.
Garnish is optional, but I think green onions or sliced jalapenos are colorful and provide a nice flavor. You can also add a dollop of sour cream or guacamole. Serve your favorite dippers, such as tortilla chips, crackers or pita chips.
How do you make chili dip with cream cheese?
This is an extremely simple dip recipe, but I’ll still break down the simple steps for you. Start by collecting a cake plate. Really any size is suitable for this!
Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the bottom of the pie plate. I like to use an offset spatula for this step.
Add your canned chili and spread evenly over the cream cheese with the back of a spoon. Hormel with beans works well, but any brand with or without beans is fine!
Then add your favorite shredded cheese blend or you can shred a block of your favorite cheddar, monterey jack, pepper jack or other melting cheese.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes or until your chili and cheese dip is nice and bubbly.
Top with green onion or sliced jalapenos as garnish and for extra flavor, if desired. Serve hot.
This cheese and chili dip is ridiculously simple but oh so delicious! Sometimes simplistic recipes with pre-made ingredients are just what you need in your party snack recipe box. No shame in the dump and go game!
What should I serve with Chili Dip?
Anything that’s good for dunking is great with chili dip! While I love Fritos Scoops corn chips Because it is easy to scoop this hot dip, any chips such as tortilla chips or kettle chips can be used. Also consider other alternatives, such as crusty bread, crackers, pita chips, pretzels or vegetables. You can also use this as a topping for fries!
