This apple dip recipe is quick and easy to prepare! It is flexible enough to make in advance and store in the refrigerator or serve immediately after preparation. I like it creamy to make dipping easier, so I recommend letting it sit at room temperature for a few minutes once completely chilled.
Ingredients for toffee dip recipe
Only a few ingredients are needed to make this flavorful apple dip with toffee chunks, including:
- cream cheese (I used the full fat version. Can use a lighter version if desired.)
- brown sugar (I used light brown sugar, but dark sugar can also be used.)
- vanilla extract
- toffee bits (I used Heath English Toffee Bits)
- pecans (optional)
- cinnamon (optional)
- nutmeg (optional
Although I added some cinnamon and nutmeg, you can leave that out in this recipe or use apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice instead.
If you don't like pecans or prefer other nuts, such as chopped walnuts or peanuts, you can substitute or omit them. I appreciate the saltiness of the nuts because they help offset the sweetness of the other ingredients, but that's not mandatory.
How do you make toffee apple dip?
You can make this cream cheese toffee apple dip in just a few simple steps. Start by beating the softened cream cheese, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg until well combined.
Add vanilla extract, chopped pecans and toffee pieces.
Stir until everything is well mixed.
Spread the mixture into a serving bowl or bowl with the back of a spoon or spatula.
I like to use a small round bowl, bowl or plate with sides so that everyone can enjoy the extra bits of pecans and toffee over a larger surface area.
What to serve with toffee dip
While apple slices are the clear favorite to serve with toffee apple dip, here is a more complete list of options:
- apple slices including red or green apples
